Examiners tend to mark down the same things: no stated aim or research question, no separate methodology, a conclusion that never returns to the question, too few citations, and sentences that sound more like conversation than scholarship. Pontbot’s consultant finds these before you submit.

The review has two layers. A rule engine checks structure, citations and style against more than thirty measurable criteria, and this produces the score and the estimated grade, so the same thesis always gets the same verdict. A language model is used only for what rules cannot decide: the logic of your argument and the written review.

Issues are grouped into four categories, each with its own score. That tells you whether your reasoning is strong but your citations are weak, or the other way round, so you know where to spend the time you have left.

  • Style and language: filler phrases, colloquialisms, overlong sentences and paragraphs

A general note to “strengthen the argument” does not get you far. For every problem the consultant marks the severity, quotes the passage, explains what is wrong with it and spells out how to fix it.

What the consultant cannot do

The consultant is built for self-checking before submission. It does not replace your supervisor or the official assessment.

  • The estimated grade is indicative. Your actual grade comes from your examiner and also depends on originality, subject-matter accuracy and your university’s requirements.
  • It does not check whether the subject matter itself is correct, such as a formula, a legal reference or the choice of a statistical test.
  • It does not check spelling. The spell checker built into our thesis writer is available for Hungarian texts.
  • Each run checks up to 50,000 characters, depending on your plan. A full thesis is best submitted chapter by chapter or in larger sections.

What is worth knowing before you submit your thesis.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. When you sign up you get 3,000 characters of free credit, enough to try the consultant on a shorter chapter. One character costs one credit, with a minimum of 500 credits per review. The paid plans give you enough allowance for a full thesis.

Which languages can it review?

Theses in English, German, Spanish, French, Polish and Hungarian. The language of the thesis is detected from the text, and the aim, hypotheses, methodology and style markers are looked for in that language. You receive the feedback in the language of the interface, so you can, for example, read an English-language review of a German thesis.

How reliable is the estimated grade?

The score and grade are calculated from measurable criteria: structure, proportions, citation density and style markers. On these they are consistent and reproducible. Your actual grade also depends on content quality and the examiner’s professional judgement, so treat the estimate as guidance, not a promise.

Why does the same thesis always get the same score?

Because the score and grade come from a rule engine, not from a language model’s impression. Results do not jump around between runs, and when you revise your thesis, any change in the score genuinely reflects your revision.

Which file formats can I upload?

PDF, Word (.docx) and plain text (.txt, .md), or you can paste the text directly. We cannot extract text from scanned PDFs saved as images.

My thesis is long. How should I submit it?

Depending on your plan, a single run checks up to 50,000 characters, roughly 25–30 pages. For a longer thesis, submit the introduction and literature review first, then the methodology, results and conclusion. If your text exceeds the limit, the interface shows how much of it will be processed.

Does it check for plagiarism too?

No. The consultant reviews structure, citations, reasoning and style. Use our plagiarism checker for matches with web sources and our AI detector for machine-generated text.

Am I charged again if I resubmit the same text?

No. If you submit the same text again within 24 hours, no further credits are deducted. And if a review fails with an error, the credits are refunded automatically.

Can I copy the consultant’s suggestions into my thesis?

The suggestions tell you what to fix and how. Make the actual changes in your own words. If your university regulates the use of AI, you may need to include an AI-use declaration with your thesis.
